Chiquita Brooks-LaSure is the Administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), where she oversees programs including Medicare, Medicaid, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and the Affordable Care Act (ACA) health insurance Marketplaces.

The federal agency that oversees CMS, which administers programs for protecting the health of all Americans, including Medicare, the Marketplace, Medicaid, and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

CMS is organized around three centers to support the Agency's key functions: Center for Medicare Management (CMM) Center for Beneficiary Choices (CBC) Center for Medicaid, CHIP and Survey & Certification (CMCS)

Survey teams must use the immediate jeopardy template attached to Appendix Q to document evidence of each component of immediate jeopardy and use the template to convey information to the surveyed entity. CMS provides guidance to surveyors for citing immediate jeopardy in Appendix Q of the SOM.
